Choose the same day each week to plan a week’s worth of breakfast, lunch, and dinner for your family.

Also, it helps to fill in a blank 30-day calendar with only the meats your family eats. When I do this, I vary the meats throughout the month. I use the schedule month after month. I do toss in special menus, but more on that later insha’Allah.

Here is a sample month-long meat schedule:

Week 1:
M=fish; T=beef liver; W=chicken; Th=beans; F=fish; S=lentils; S=chicken*

Week 2:
M=fish; T=turkey; W=lamb; Th=beans; F=fish; S=lentils**; Su=chicken*

Week 3:
M=fish; T=beef liver; W=chicken; Th=beans; F=fish; S=lentils; S=chicken*

Week 4:
M=fish; T=turkey; W=lamb; Th=beans; F=fish; S=lentils**; Su=chicken*

‡or seafood, *whole baked chicken, **or vegetarian.
