Including the young ones in your gardening/homesteading activities provides first hand experience in the effort that goes into obtaining nourishment. It also helps establish healthy relationships with food. But besides all that, kiddos just love digging around in the dirt.

A favorite website of mine recently posted a page packed with sampler activities about farms for grades Pre-K – 2 thru 12!

You’ll find excerpts about backyard homesteading, farm animal mazes, organic farming in Asia, paper crafts, puzzles, coloring books, literature, and a lot more.

Print and have fun!

The site’s activities are samples of what is in actual books sold by Dover Publishing. So if you see something the kids really like (or need), you can order it or look for it in bookstores.
