About

I am writing this blog to and for my offspring, particularly the girl children.

Here is where I plan to document what I have learned while journeying to true womanhood. And where I plan to write down the family traditions, stories, and other things I want to share with them for when they have families of their own.

We are a Muslim family who strive to implement Islam as understood and practiced by Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhe wa sallam), his Companions (may allah’s blessing be upon them), and the First Three Generations of Muslims without distortion or innovation.

  1. Assalaamu alaikum dear sister,
Your posts are wonderful. I am a wife and a mother and I wasn’t raised to be either of those, like many Western women. There are so many aspects of womanhood that I don’t know and wish I had learned. Please continue this beautiful mission 🙂

wa alaykum as salaam yaa ukhti,
Thank you for the thoughtful comment. The feminist movement has had a real (and negative) impact on society. People don’t know what they are supposed to be doing anymore. But the great thing is that our brains are so capable of learning. The most important thing to have is a desire for change. And it seems like you have that. So I wouldn’t worry too much or become overly concerned with the past; you have plenty of days ahead of you to pick up some new skills inshaAllah. Think of it as a second girlhood where you get to play dress up and everything! Have a wonderful day!
